Our beautifully situated, detached house in the peaceful, ancient hillside town
of Guitres in the heart of the premier wine producing area of Bordeaux offers a
real taste of French life. The house has stunning views, fabulous local fare in
the shops and restaurants, all the while so close to majestic Bordeaux
vineyards.
Sleeps: 4 (two bedrooms-a double and a twin)
The house is set by an archetypically French square, shaded by trees, opposite
the west door of the Ancient Romanesque Abbey of Guitres. The living
accommodation, which is on the first floor, benefits from the wonderful views of
the town square, church and River Isle. The house also has a small secluded
garden, the perfect place to unwind.
The house is in the Gironde area of France with Bordeaux on
the west and Bergerac to the east, with the nearest main town being Libourne.
This area offers incomparable Vineyards, fairytale chateaux, abundant Romanesque
Churches, impressive bastides, picturesque rivers with their characteristic
lamprey nets along the banks, plentiful forests for walking or cycling, and as
you would expect, wonderful restaurants.
Guitres is easily accessible from the motorway network,
within an hour's drive of Bordeaux or Bergerac airports and the TGV station at
Libourne is only 14 miles away.
The property provides an ideal base for those who enjoy good food and wine as
well as visiting many historic places. It offers the perfect escape from the
stress and cares of a busy life. |
